Wales training camp
July 27th, 2009 by Will
Wow, that’s the first time I have gone a week without internet!
I have spend the last seven days in Wales with coach Rick and Aaron Harris. It was an interesting camp, I didn’t feel particularly good at the start, felt a little ill and run down but came good by the end and only managed to drop a 2hr ride from the 36hr Schedule.
We stayed in Rick’s flat so was quite close quarters, all we did was train, sleep and eat! LOTS.
The weather unfortunately was terrible all week with some really wet and windy rides but despite this we managed to get out amongst it.
Monday
1.15min swim, 4.5hr ride in the hills, 1hr easy run
Tuesday
Two 1hr Swims
Wednesday
1hr run steady – Swim easy 1.15mins – 1.5hrs of hard chaingang with run off the bike – 1k, 2k, 2k, 1k. In 2:54/5:52/5:53/2:51
Thusday
2hr run , Hard Swim 1hr45
Friday
4hr Hard Ride – Solid swim 1.5hrs – 50 mins run home from swimming
Saturday
Sea swim for 1hr solid – 30 warm up, 15 warm down. 6×2k track 1.5mins rest.  Felt terrible but had to push through…6:00, 6:00, 6:04, 6:12, 6:10, 6:00 Tough times!
Sunday
1hr run in the hills and 2hr hard ride.
?
As I didn’t feel good at the start, the rest was an issue but I was pleased to get it done.
I also decided I would turn up at The London Triathlon next Sunday, just because I love that race and I got to do it! So I am pushing on like above till Thursday evening then stopping for my fun race.
