Seoul World Championships Series.

Quick fire thoughts about Seoul World Champs Series and Seoul city:
-Finished 10th in my first World Champs Series. Good strong first race with an almost strongest possible field of athletes.
-Dont try to hop up onto the curb to take the shortest route if you are tired and you are risking falling over!
-Asia is still difficult to race in for me, the food, jet lag and heat make for a tough time!
-Don’t expect anything special from your first race…it takes a while to remember how much it hurts and then takes while to get the race fitness.
-There is a tradition in ITU racing of running out like mad men…lots of athletes finishing from 3-10th these days are running through even paced.
-Must stay even closer to the front on twisty bike courses.
-Good to see Olly Freeman back racing well and he’s a top room mate!
-Russians and Germans still very fast and hard to beat!
-Courtney Atkinson my athlete of the day…Daniella Ryf for womens.
-Some seriously dodgy riding from some of our Asian athletes! Â Surprising considering how busy the parks are here!!
-Still desperate for a top finish that I dream of. (Podium really) Most of the time I come home from these races a bit disappointed. I hope the season just gets better and better after the good start but till then, I will keep asking questions and mull it over. We will see in the next few months what the rest of the season holds.
-These are the best guys in the world and if it was easy it wouldn’t be worth achieving.
-See…beating myself up already and it actually went quite well!!!
This just in Hollie Avil (Beijing Olympian and good friends of mine and Clare) has just gone to hospital and is really ill…hope she’s not too bad. Â Think it will be the water in the swim, but could be lunch?
