Schliersee next race up

Hey everyone, I had an awesome weekend. I enjoyed the uncharacteristically hot 2 days that we had and did lots of hard training to keep the body topped up in this rather intense period of racing!  I got so used to the hot weather in Australia but these two days threw me…I couldn’t sleep properly and struggled with tiredness throughout the day!

Everything has been going great since my strong result in Kitzbuhel though, I feel in pretty good shape at the moment in all 3 sports so helps with enjoyment.  I’m racing quite a bit at the moment and I realise that it has to be handled properly if I’m going to be consistent, so as soon as I arrived back from Kitzbuhel I pushed straight into hard training for another week before I start resting up again for Schliersee which is the 2nd round of the Bundesliga.

Racing Schliersee is a slightly dodgy decision as it’s meant to be one of the hardest races on the circuit with a lot of climbing in the mountains on the bike (last 6k @ 10% gradient) it could take a while to recover from but it’s meant to be one of the most beautiful and challenging races around so Clare and I are heading over on Thursday.  It helps out that I really enjoy racing for EJOT Buschutten.  They really look after their athletes so it’s a stress free, fun weekend away for us, I always race well in these sort of things and I hope I can bring them a big result 😉
