Ready to rock and roll!
August 28th, 2009 by Will
Well yesterday saw the end to my 10 day block, and my last hard block of the year!
This training block couldn’t have gone better. I managed to back up hard session after hard session and now I feel ready to smoke it at the Worlds. Â My swimming and running are going especially well which is quite tough to do normally!
We did a cracking session on the track the other day, 2×200, 12×400 (minute rest) and 4×200. Â For some reason I went into the session thinking, ‘I want to hit 60’s for all of them!’ Unfortunately the wind was too strong and my legs weren’t amazing but I managed to hit out. 5×60’s then they started going out to 61’s and some 62’s! Â Still happy with that speed though.
Tomorrow I am off to France to race in Paris with Lagardere Paris Racing, I’m looking forward to it, Rick is coming to check it out with me. Â I hope we can win this time, Stu and Steffen Justus are racing so we have a strong team! That evening we are starting the long journey to Gold Coast. Â The next challenge for me is to get to Gold Coast healthy as it’s a bloody long way and I hope I don’t get to Brisbane too run down!
