Peaks and Troughs on Sunday
April 19th, 2010 by Will
Our flights to Ireland were cancelled like all the other thousands of flights around Europe! Â I feel for the people who are stranded abroad. Â It sounds like fun but I bet they are spending a fortune and getting really stressed out about not being able to get back to their normal lives now! Â Hope it gets back to normal soon!
I raced another 10k in Sheffield instead. Â It went really badly and I was pretty disappointed! Â The actual time wasn’t diabolical, which kind of goes to show that my standards are very high now which is a good thing…I expect about 40 seconds faster then that though. Â I was out there on my own from the first meter and after just 1k I knew my breathing was too heavy and my legs were not snappy enough to run fast today. I’m sure there is an underlying reason, most probably tired from a a big block of training a week back. Â Still I am one of those guys who gets really down if I don’t achieve my targets. Â This happens all the time though, just have to forget about it and keep my head down for Seoul as things ARE going well… You always want answers though! Special mention to Emily Pidgeon who went 32:25…and my team mate Hollie Avil who went 34:28. It’s fun to see the girls mixing it up with some very fit looking guys. Â Their faces…especially with Emily!
The day only picked up from there, it was a awesome sunny day so our new new tradition of BBQ on a Saturday went ahead. Â So the boys and some ladies came over!
It’s never pretty when Triathletes get together and play football!
Lola loves it when the guys come over…but she gets pretty tired!
