As I was making my way towards a Hyde Park exit gate after watching the elite race (shocking to see Alistair Brownlee break down like that) I was really surprised to see you back on your bike and zooming around a corner so soon after putting yourself through 1hr and 45 mins of pain (a warm down?)I thought to myself 'that's what you call dedication'! Am sure it will get you the results you want.

Hello
I wanted to check your web site and I thought to myself: he won't write anything today... and what a surprise! It's not really often when athlete has something to say after bad race. It's common when you are bombed by "!yeah_super, great_what a race:)!" only after good results (but there are also athletes who don't like to write a a lot : "it's good to win today or it's good to be world champion today or really pleased with win at euro champs today...)
I was triathlete one day. After my best year (2006- 12th at U23 world champs) I quit triathlon. I thought that it is impossible to reach such high level (like Clarke for example:) After my disappointing races in 2007 I decided to have a "real" job etc. I didn't realised what I was missing. My post became too long so all I want to say is: enjoy this superb sport as long as you can and I'm sure that results same as in 2006 will come again. Good luck!

What would be great is a Will's Weekly Training section, listing daily training activities. For self- trained age group triathletes (of which there are an ever increasing number) this kind of info would be v. helpful, instructive & motivating. Without the benefit of coaches & a background in the sport we have to make it up as we go along, taking tips from magazines & handbooks & piecing together training routines through trial & error. The thing is that a lot of pro triathlete websites are vague & fluffy, promotional pages rather than offering substance to the fan. Look at Chris Lieto's website. Super slick etc but it has a coorporate feel and doesn't give much of an insight into the details of the daily grind & hard work that enables pros to produce the kinds of times in the three disciplines that amaze the amatuers. However, I could understand if you might want to keep these kinds of details to yourself. Perhaps it's sensitive info that would give your competitors an edge. Anyway, congrats on your site & all the best for this season.

Dress up as a dog and run down Loughborough main street dragging the Vacuum.

If I win I would like to donate the vacuum to NASA to use on their next space mission.

I have to have the last word:

If we are not allowed 15 mins of fame there would be no triathlon.

There would only be cricket.

Just as there is a need for diversification within triathlon, triathlon itself is a form of diversification within sports, and sports is a form of diversification within "what shall we do when we already got enough food".

Multiplication of options is inevitable.

why not have one swimming world champion? one boxing world champion?
whats with the 100metre sprint in athletics? 5km ?3km steeple chase?biathlon is totally different class of sport.
shouldnt there be one world champion in all sports then?
im quite sure that the answer is no. you cant please all the people all the time.
ok ,have ironman world champs, olympic distance triathlon world champs, and if the world champs in each event want to have a race off at 1.5mile swim,50mile bike,10mile run ,no drafting.
but that aint gonna happen.
its the same sport, different event ,period. ie 100m to marathon in athletics.
