I’m currently on day no.4 of probably the hardest block I have done this year. Â I guess, it’s a “s%$t lets keep this season moving after a bit of a howler at the Europeans. Â I spoke to Ben and Joel after the last race and we decided to really press on for 10 days leading [...]

I return trip from Korea went pretty smoothly and the most difficult trip of the year is forgotten! Don’t get me wrong I felt like crap when I arrived back from Asia hTe jet lag can be really tough, I’m not sure my body really knew where it was when I arrived back. I have [...]

Girona is nice, really nice. Accommodation and food is really good which sort of partly makes the trip in my eyes. As long as it’s a nice interesting area and the suns out, I’m happy and we have that as well.
We are under an hours ride from the Pyrenees here so a lot of [...]

Been in Lanza for 5 days.
Its been great, lovely temperature (for winter). Â These Spanish don’t even know what winter is I don’t think!
Nothing special out here, just very consistent training, hitting the important sessions and taking it easy in the recovery.
Today we rode with Dave Mclean. Â Don’t think I have ever ridden with someone so [...]

The day started terribly.
Wednesday morning swim, I hate Wednesday mornings. We swim at 6:00am and it sucks! Â It falls right after my Tuesday run session and if I am tired at all when I swim…I can’t swim!
We then had to ride indoors at 10:30am to get away from the snow. Â I rocked up, got set [...]

Cant believe this first part of the year has gone so quick almost Christmas and 7 weeks into my training, I’m really enjoying the process. Â If you are looking for a good present for the family for Xmas…
It’s quite different being coached by Ben Bright, things feel very under control, not one day is particularly [...]

I’m really enjoying being back into my training. Â It’s probably been the smoothest start I have had so far, which is great because that’s how I need it to continue! Â The weather has been amazing recently up here, it’s starting to get cold though but as long as the suns out, it’s a pleasure!
I have [...]

Really keen to get my hands on one of these! Looks like a really cool bit of kit, I have heard amazing things about it. I am speaking to the guy from Normatec tomorrow to see what we can do
I think it could make a big difference for recovery! You need every advantage you [...]

Well, I’m now getting stuck into my 2nd week of training.
It’s going really well so far, It definitely gets easier the older you get, probably more relevantly the more years you have of backing up the hours.
I was hurting big time in the first few days, I was blowing up in every session and I felt in [...]

I mentioned a month or so ago that Loughborough was changing.
It’s been a controversial decision I guess…I just read 220 Magazines release all about it. Â Well, my Dad told me about it! (Jodie Stimpson is not very happy!)
I had an fantastic season coached by Rick Velati, incredibly consistent, and although I was obviously overshadowed by a [...]

Well, not been up to much to be honest!
We had a couple of nights out in Gold Coast after the race, both were awesome and it was fantastic to go out and relax with all the guys who I race week in, week out. It was a nightclub full of lightweights!
We chilled out on Saturday [...]

Hey gang.
2 days out from the race now…still feels like a long time! To be honest, its been pretty boring the past few days! I can’t wait to get this one ticked off. Â I don’t know what the forms like, I have completely forgotten about the cracking block of training I completed almost two weeks [...]

I pulled up from London pretty well in the end.
One of my competitors and friends Clark Ellice is down from New Zealand, he’s a good athlete and were getting our heads stuck into this last block of training for just one more hard week this year and it’s gone really well so far. I think [...]

It’s been a good week really. Â Been a bit tired at times, but London didn’t massively bite me in the ass like it should have and races normally do!
You can’t lose much fitness but you could gain a bit in 2 weeks so thats what I have been doing ahead of the London World Championships [...]

Wow, that’s the first time I have gone a week without internet!
I have spend the last seven days in Wales with coach Rick and Aaron Harris. It was an interesting camp, I didn’t feel particularly good at the start, felt a little ill and run down but came good by the end and only managed [...]
