My favourite ever ride in Loughborough + SNOW!

Wednesday, January 6th, 2010

The day started terribly.
Wednesday morning swim, I hate Wednesday mornings. We swim at 6:00am and it sucks!  It falls right after my Tuesday run session and if I am tired at all when I swim…I can’t swim!

We then had to ride indoors at 10:30am to get away from the snow.  I rocked up, got set [...]

Happy New Year 2010!

Friday, January 1st, 2010

I’m off to bed.
Wow, that was a good send off, Wild In Loughborough!
Good laugh, spent a ton as usual! £10 entry, In Loughborough! It’s the new London!
Thanks for following me in 2009, It’s been a quality year, had some great races and had a lot of fun, but really looking forward to push on to [...]

Happy Christmas everyone

Thursday, December 24th, 2009

Happy Christmas to everyone, I hope you have a great day and 2010 is a big success.
I am enjoying some more ‘pressure off time’.  I feel quite tired after the past 9/10 weeks so it’s nice to come back down from the volume and intensity that I was on.  Christmas came at a good time, [...]

Day one Antequerra

Sunday, December 13th, 2009

Just arrived in Antequerra (Southern Spain) for our top secret British training camp.
I’m rooming with Captain Slug Eyebrows, Aaron Harris again and so far its not been too bad.  Were not on the rocks yet and no real arguments! It is only day one however.

Spirits in the camp are really good, its the biggest camp [...]

Lets just have one World Championships

Thursday, November 12th, 2009

Probably get a bit nailed for this post…
One think that really annoys me about Triathlon is the amount of World Championships there are about and in-fact, the amount of races there are in the World.  It’s crazy how many top level races there are kicking about.
I would love to see one World Championships and the [...]

When your hurting…

Todays weapons of choice are as follows!

Tough Guy 2010

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

Granted, this race has been around for ages.  Most people know about it, but I am really keen to do this this year!
I wonder if I can get round without getting injured or ill!?

I’m going to get on the phone to coach!

The first week…

Monday, October 26th, 2009

Well, I’m now getting stuck into my 2nd week of training.
It’s going really well so far, It definitely gets easier the older you get, probably more relevantly the more years you have of backing up the hours.
I was hurting big time in the first few days, I was blowing up in every session and I felt in [...]

This weekend

Sunday, August 23rd, 2009

I pulled up from London pretty well in the end.
One of my competitors and friends Clark Ellice is down from New Zealand, he’s a good athlete and were getting our heads stuck into this last block of training for just one more hard week this year and it’s gone really well so far. I think [...]

Thoughts on London

Tuesday, August 18th, 2009

London was an interesting race at the weekend. I rocked in 15th so obviously nothing to be proud of!
The swim was really fast this week, probably the fastest I have ever seen it.  It split up so quickly at the front I couldn’t believe it! Hence a good group of fast swimmers got away with [...]

Our Thoughts on Recovery

Fish people starting to infiltrate Triathlon!

Wednesday, August 5th, 2009

The swims are getting faster, we knew that anyway…that was before these two rocked onto the scene! Can they really change things?

This is Marco Rivera.  He raced us in the FGP in Dunkerque and a few other races where he was 30 secs off the front of 2nd place.  Guess what, I was watching the [...]

A Suprise Win at London :)

Monday, August 3rd, 2009

It’s funny! I’m always quick to write something when it’s going well! When it’s not necessarily going well…nothing! Same with a lot of people I think!
London went great at the weekend, I competed at the end of a difficult period for me, motivation wise I felt a bit low, I worked hard in Wales but [...]

Surprising Article

Tuesday, July 28th, 2009

Was really interested to read this article today.
Guardian.co.uk/sport/2009/jul/26/olympic-heroes-sponsorship-deals-beijing
Fortunately in our sport if you ever become Olympic Champion I really don’t think for one minute that you will have to go back to work afterwards.  I have heard of Euro 45,000 for just a bike deal for one of the recent Olympic Champions.  If you are [...]
